Analog Science Fiction - Science Fact September 1967 (Volume 80, Number 1)
Illustrations by Kelly Freas, John Schoenherr. Cover by Kelly Freas (for "The King's Legions.")

Novelette: "The King's Legions" by Christopher Anvil (3rd in "Vaughn Nathan Roberts/Space Patrol" series - part of Strangers in Paradise, but I recommend this version as the secondary characters were "simplified" for the novelization.)

Short Novel: "Fiesta Brava" by Mack Reynolds (a "Section G" story, and one of my favorites by Reynolds. Freas supplies 3 illustrations that capture the characters & situations nicely.)

Stories: "The Pearly Gates of Hell" by Jack Wodhams
"Important Difference" by E. G. von Wald
"Lost Calling" by Verge Foray (Howard L. Myers.)

Science: "The Usefulness of Nicotine" by Prof. J. Harold Burn FRS.

John W. Campbell's editorial is "Let Sanity Die"; Book reviews by P. Schuyler Miller.
