VG+ or better IF 1966,December | |
Tight / square. Very light overall wear. Faint long diagonal fold-trace on back cover next to spine. Age-tanning is definitely less than average for its vintage. No stamps, marks or writing. |

Worlds of IF - Science Fiction: December 1966 Volume 16, No. 12 Novelettes: "Be Merry" by Algis Budrys (I recommend this as one of his best stories) Serial: "Snow White and the Giants" (Part 3 of 4) by J. T. McIntosh. Stories: "The Thousandth Birthday Party" by Durant Imboden Edited by Frederik Pohl; Judy-Lynn Benjamin is Associate editor. Fandom column by Lin Carter. With Pohl at the helm (who also edited the sister magazines Galaxy and Worlds of Tomorrow), the lineup of authors is starting to look like a "Who's Who" of SF. Niven's "Neutron Star" from the October, 1966 issue is the 1967 Short Story winner (and the first of 6 "Known Space" stories in a span of 7 issues.) This is the second of 3 consecutive years that IF wins the Hugo award for "best magazine" (in 1966, 1967 and 1968 - each for the previous year.) |
