GALAXY 1972,May

While the paperback-stock is much more durable - I think they also changed the paper stock at the same time: to a lesser quality which quickly goes to a moderate uniform tanning. My own copies look the same - you may not be able to do better (until mid-1975.) No stamps, marks or writing / some faint speckiing on the top page block only.

GALAXY Science Fiction: MAY-June 1972 (Volume 32, Number 6)
All illustrations by Jack Gaughan. Cover by Jack Gaughan (for "The Gods Themselves.")

Serial: "The Gods Themselves" (conclusion) by Isaac Asimov (part 2 was in If April 1972. This went on to win both Hugo and Nebula awards for "best novel.")

Novelettes: "The Reply" by James Gunn (incorporated into The Listeners)
"Trouble With G. O. D." by David Gerrold (incorporated into When Harlie was One.)

Stories: "Robbie and David and Little Dahl" by W. Macfarlane
"Gone Fishing" by David Rome
"The Grand Illusions" by Larry Eisenberg (a "Duckworth" story)
"The Langley Circuit" by Susan Fisher.

Ejler Jakobsson is editor, Judy-Lynn Benjamin is managing editor, Lester del Rey is feature editor, Jack Gaughan is Art Director.

Galaxy is now bound in paperback stock, making it incredibly durable (compared to most other magazines.) The crossover of the Asimov serial between Galaxy and If reflected that there was a short time limit before the hardcover came out, and not enough time for a 3-part serial in either bi-monthly magazine. (I'm not sure if this feat has been done anywhere else in a SF magazine.)
