Edited by Robert W. Lowndes. "Inside Science Fiction" (Fandom column by Robert A. Madle); "The Last Word" (letter column.) SCIENCE FICTION STORIES was linked to a companion magazine: Future Science Fiction (also edited by Lowndes.) This is the second incarnation of the magazine (after the first one died in 1941, then both titles were combined until 1943.) Revived in 1953 - it lasted until November 1959. The 1950's set was digest size. After 2 one-shots (1 each in 1953 & 1954), it had a regular bimonthly schedule with a brief span in 1958-59 when a monthly schedule was attempted (with a few gaps.) Although edited on a shoestring budget (cheap paper & low payments), both SCIENCE FICTION STORIES and Future had a good lineup of authors, with some decent stories. As of September 1955, "The Original" was added in front of the old version of the title.
