Book is tight, with 1/8" tilt or less at bottom (square at top) / otherwise very little wear. DJ in excellent shape; DJ protector had light wear so I discarded it - there are some traces that made it through, along right side of front cover (these may not show up in scans and are only visible if the light is angled.) The only remaining library-traces are a small sticker at bottom of title page, and a 3" rough patch on back endpaper where a checkout list or paper might have been attached - no writing or stamps or marks.

Third in the "Alpha & Omega" series spun off from her "Mercy Thompson" series - featuring Charles (younger son of the Marrock of the werewolves) and his mate, Anna (a rare "omega" werewolf.) I thought the earlier books about this pair were good reading but lacked some of the spark of originality or innovation shown by the "Mercy" books - but with this volume, Briggs has got the right idea of what to do with her characters. While this title can be found in a recent SFBC omnibus, you might want a hardcover of this to re-read so you won't wear out your BCE copy - I've already read my copy several times.

Fair Game (British hardcover original in 2012, hardcover omnibus in 2012, American hardcover reprint in 2012.)
[From the flap-copy of the hardcover-reprint]:
It is said that opposites attract. And in the case of werewolves Anna Latham and Charles Cornick, they mate. The son - and enforcer - of the leader of the North American werewolves, Charles is a dominant Alpha. While Anna, as Omega, has the rare ability to calm others of her kind.

Now that the werewolves have revealed themselve to humans, they can't afford any bad publicity. Infractions that could have been overlooked in the past must now be punished, and the strain of doing his father's dirty work is taking a toll on Charles.

Nevertheless, Charles and Anna are sent to Boston when the FBI requests the pack's help on a local serial-killer case. They quickly realize that the last two [3] victims were werewolves, and identify others originally thought to be human as fae. Someone is targeting the preternatural. And now Anna and Charles have put themselves right in the killer's sights...
