A fine condition paperback of Timothy Zahn's second short story collection: Time Bomb and Zahndry Others. I've seen this offered (and sold) as a novel - it is a collection, and a good one, at that. Tim Zahn has a Masters in Physics, and most of these stories first appeared in Analog in the Eighties, with one each from Magazine of F&SF and New Destinies. One reason Zahn has always had my respect is that he would write short fiction, and not expand every idea into a novel (even though that's where the money is.) If you want an idea of the range of Timothy Zahn's writing, this would be a good place to start.

"Ernie" - from 1979 - is his first story. One of my favorites - "Between a Rock and a High Place" - is about a continuously flying Skyport, with connecting shuttles making short flights. Zahn showcases his whole concept by observing an accident which occurs while one of the original programmers is visiting.
