Most of Wells' stories were collected before 1900, and there are dozens of collections reprinting from those original half-dozen "primary" collectons. Which volumes are best for you depends on what you already have or how much you like H. G. Wells' stories. The Short Stories of H. G. Wells (1927 - sometimes titled Complete Short Stories) contained all 63 stories in earlier collections, and almost any later collection can be considered a derivative or subset of that 1927 collection.

Selected Short Stories (1958) has 21 of the 63 stories in The Short Stories of H. G. Wells (1927) - in the same sequence, allowing for omissions. If you want an introduction to Wells' short fiction, this would be a good volume.
