Tight and square with flat spine - probably unread. Back cover shows a light haze of dots along right side - where close contact with another book caused ink transfer (see Scan #2.)

The Dumarest series lasted about 30 books, and I would recommend most of the early ones (particularly the Ace-Doubles) as good reading. If you're not familiar with the premise, Earl Dumarest was born on Earth, but wandered so far from it in a crowded galaxy that people in the region he is currently in think that Earth is but a legend, like "El Dorado." (The Traveller gaming system, with High and Low Passage, quicktime and basic, is loosely based on the very populated galaxy Dumarest travels in.) He picks up friends and enemies, and occaisionally a clue pointing towards Earth.

The Quillian Sector - #19 in the series. Take the greatest hunter of a hundred worlds - a professional killer wise to the wiles of beasts and men. Give him a human target. Take the greatest concentration of brains of a thousand worlds - the Cyclan with its legion of emotionless agents. Give these inhuman monsters a human target. His name, of course, is Earl Dumarest. The hunt rules were special: Dumarest must be captured but not killed. And the place for the hunt was special: the Quillian Sector. "The place where space goes mad." This is where Dumarest was searching for lost Terra.
