Part of the "Future Boston" series that began with Future Boston - a "shared-world" anthology with a small pool of authors (including Sarah Smith, Alexander Jablokov, Geoffry A. Landis, Steven Popkes) contributing several stories each - edited by David Alexander Smith. I've had no compulsion to read other "Future Boston" books - but I enjoyed this one a lot. A good mix of extrapolation & policework, with a fascinating alien partner. Smith has also written Marathon and 2 sequels, as by "D. Alexander Smith."
