Ballantine/ Del Rey Books (first edition) July 1978. Cover by H. R. van Dongen, 246 pages. Condition is near-Fine: tight and almost square with flat spine; trace of overall wear. No stamps, marks or writing - a clean copy. Age-tanning is mild to moderate and uniform. To me it seems just a little dark for a book of this vintage - but you may not be able to do better for a first edition, given the quality of paper the publisher chose.

All Earth's scientists had was a wrecked spaceship, abandoned on a frozen satellite of Jupiter - with samples of Earth life from the late Oligocene - 25 million years ago. Suddenly, spinning out of the vastness of space, a ship of the strange, humanoid giants returned, bringing answers that would alter Mankind's notions of human origins, and startling revelations from the past that would have biologic reverbrations to the end of time...
