By this point in the series, Hamilton has found that she can include sex scenes and her readers will clamor for more. Expect a strong sexual content. She is still delivering dense plots with a sense-of-wonder: a lot goes on in a short period of time. I compare novels in this segment of the series to a whole season of the "24" television series (and now you get a porn movie tossed in for the same price.) For me, this was the last in the series that I found completely satisfying: her cast of characters has grown huge, but they are getting "stage time," emotional/ethical entanglements are explored; sex is still about power. This is the biggest so far: 6-1/2" by 9-3/8" by 2" thick - 658 pages.
