Berkley Medalion February 1968 paperback (X1514, a paperback original.) Cover by Richard Powers, 192 pages, 60 cent cover price. Condition is VG to VG+: tight and almost square (bottom is square / top has slight tilt); spine is flat with a couple of faint lines; mild uniform age tanning; light overall wear. No stamps, marks or writing. The white cover background has picked up some age-darkening, which makes this look a bit older. | |||
Greylorn - a collection of novelets by Keith Laumer. These are some of his "serious" stories (as opposed to the humorous "Retief" stories.) "Greylorn" was Laumer's first story (from 1959), and "The King of the City" is one of one of my all-time favorites. Greylorn Original appearances from 1959 to 1964 - in Amazing (2), Worlds of Tomorrow, and Galaxy. Most of these were expanded into novels much later in his career. I prefer (and strongly recommend) these earlier versions. (The 1968 paperback is the first and only American printing - there was a British hardcover retitled The Other Sky done later in 1968.) |
