"The Only Bird In Her Name" and "Time Of The Star" first appeared iln Aphelion SF Magazine #1 & #3; "What We Did To The Tiger" was in Omega Science Digest - all in 1986, and all Australian magazines. The other 5 stories/novelets are original to this 1990 Australian collection from Aphelion Publications. The only American edition was a SFBC hardcover offered for a brief time, and there was also an Australian paperback in 2003. I ordered this from Aphelion Press in 1991, read it, and can easily recommend it as a good introduction to Dowling. Any of the editions are somewhat scarce - I was lucky enough to find a hardcover.
